Theatre Ancaster's annual Christmas Radio production to benefit Ancaster Community Services presents this year's show: It's a Wonderful Life. The production reproduces the live radio show based on the famous 1947 movie starring Jimmy Stewart as the unassuming town hero who comes close to jumping from the town bridge, only to find that without him, the quality of life in his town would have been much poorer. Presented as a live radio drama, the show features live sound effect foley work and mimics the original radio ads of the period. This radio show is presented at Theatre Ancaster's homey and intimate Old Firehall theatre with treats and hot cider provided to help our audience feel like they're snuggled up around the fire and listening to the show over the family radio.

Adaptation follows a group of wheelchair bound athletes as they converge in British Columbia, Canada for the BC Summer Race Series. The World’s first downhill mountain bike race series to include an adaptive mountain bike (aMTB) category. However Adaptation is not just a film about a race, it's a group of stories about the human race and ones ability to overcome adversity. From acclaimed director Levan Akin (And Then We Danced), CROSSING is a moving and tender tale of identity, acceptance and unlikely connection that transcends borders and generations. Lia, a retired school teacher living in Georgia, hears from a young neighbor Achi that her long lost niece Tekla, a transgender woman, has crossed the border into Turkey. Hoping to bring Tekla home after a period of estrangement, Lia travels to Istanbul with the unpredictable Achi to find her. Akin's third feature is a heartfelt portrayal of overcoming the degrees of separation that divide us.
Since her sister’s disappearance, Jax (Lily Gladstone) has cared for her niece Roki (Isabel Deroy-Olson) by scraping by on the Seneca-Cayuga reservation in Oklahoma. Every spare minute goes into finding her missing sister while also helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow. At the risk of Jax losing custody to Roki’s grandfather, Frank (Shea Whigham), the pair hit the road and scour the backcountry to track down Roki’s mother in time for the powwow.
Using each student's choice of landscape subject matter, this introductory course will focus on the creation of a 16" X 20" acrylic painting on canvas. Composition and colour-mixing as well as art appreciation will provide the foundation of the program. All of the materials for this course will be supplied during this six week course.
